Is the 26-353 pivot bar designed so as the pin is on center, or is it offset?

CertainTeed's pivot bars are designed with an offset, but when the pivot bar is installed on their sashes they become centered in the window track.

26-353 - Just following up on the CertainTeed's pivot bar. The picture on the website show the pivot bar centered, but the broken one that I have is offset. Any help with this please? Thanks, Dave Parsons, Carroll County Glass

You have Certainteed's old style offset pivot bars. Our 26-353 Certainteed Sash Pivot Bar might not work because, as you said, they are not offset. You can take a look at 26-175 Certainteed Pivot Bar Pair, but you will have to change your old pivot shoe to the 15-192 Certainteed Pivot Shoe.

Attached is a photo of a Certainteed "Devon" (I believe) vinyl window lower sash pivot bar which I managed to break.

While it closely resembles your 26-353 pivot bar, you will note that the "bar arm" or "tit" itself (which I severed) is not centered at the bottom of the bar but is offset to the right and is somewhat above the bottom of the bar.

Can you help with this?

Thanks for posting. I have placed you into an existing thread concerning this pivot bar. As Paul said above, we do not have this exact, older style. The closest we have is our 26-175, and that will likely require you to change your old pivot shoe to the 15-192, as well. Let me know if this solution would work for you.

Has anyone successfully converted their old Certainteed style sash pivot bar (with the off-set pin) over to the newer 26-175/15-192?
