I believe it is safe to assume that the original part is missing. Let's have you start with sending us a clearer photo showing the hole pattern where the old lockset went. We'd also like to see a photo of the mortise if you still have it. Lastly, give us the installation hole spacing for the handle, center to center.

I also have the same JW handle with the PD0016 number visible. The locking mechanism was stiff when we purchased our home and the latch broke off. Adding pictures below.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi there! If the only thing that broke is your thumb lever then you could use our 82-107. Look it over and see what you think.

Hey Tom,
You are brilliant! Went in with a flat screwdriver and was able to get the latch moving with no problem. I went ahead and ordered the thumb lever.
Thanks again!

That's fantastic news! Thanks for confirming for us, and of course for ordering with us to begin with. Please let me know if I can be of any further help in the future.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have the exact same issue. I will definitely order 82-107 and after arrival and installation I will give you the results. I'm sure it'll be good since I have the exact same problem
