Jam Spreaders

Question

Used the jam spreaders for the first time but after I got the pivot shoe out the spreaders would not close enough and I had to back out the allen screws to get the units to close enough to remove them from the window. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for contacting us. You should be able to open and close the clamps with the knob. We show in our video that you should be able to close the spreaders as far as they need to go to remove them from the window. There's no method to it beyond that.
