Jeld Wen balance

Home Owner from CA
Hello,

I have a single hung Jeld Wen window. The balance shows 22 , not sure if that is related to length as I measured 23 inches, that was just the metal channel. I forgot to weigh the sash, this window is heavy, not a standard pane next thickness up from standard. I think it might weigh around 20 pounds. If memory serves the sash it is about 30 x 24 inches.
Thanks

Something else, this window is in a rental, I'm not sure how easy it was to operate when new. Both balances appear to be in working order and spring tension is tight. However it takes a fair amount of energy to lift the window. Not sure if the springs can loose there lift of if these were replaced in some point in time with the wrong ones . Thanks

Hello,

We can supply your replacement balances but it will need to be a custom order due to the length, extended travel pulley system and unique combination of end attachments. With that being said, I would recommend getting the exact weight of your window sash to ensure that the replacements are calibrated to support the exact weight of the sash. This is an important step since custom balances are not able to be returned for a refund if the calibration is off. See the weight ranges supported by a few of our stamp options below:

2240: 19-23 Ibs.

2250: 23-27 Ibs.

2260: 27-30 Ibs.

Please note that these balances will come with 22-7/8" long metal channels, not including the end fittings, which should match your assembly. We'll also need to confirm the number of balances that you need, with the minimum being two. Thank you!
