This balance is from a jeld-wen window. The only number I can find on the balance is 5737877 (?) I took a photo of it.
The only number I can find on the window is JW-14 8/29/00 B#1. As you can see in the photo the balance measures 28 1/2 inches long.
I appreciate your help with this as I have been dealing with Jeld-wen since February.
This crossbow balance has been discontinued by the manufacturer, so that might explain Jeld Wen's issues. We have devised a solution, though. The S795-28 is a much better balance overall, and it fits the same windows.
You'll need 26-021 pivot bars to fit into the new balance shoe, and you need to measure the shoe to be sure if it measures 1-1/4" in width. If it doesn't, buy a 15-194 shoe and snap it in place to replace the larger shoe.
You likely have a metal hook on the end of your balance. If so, you'll need a 26-200 plug to fill the hole where the hook used to go. The plug has a screw-hole that you can use to fasten the new balance, which uses a screw-tab instead of a hook.
It's a little bit of work, but once you finish the modification, your balance will work better, and you'll be able to replace it down the line if you need it again.
