Jeld wen window weather seal

Home Owner from USA

I was on your web site and it looks like you may be able to help me. I had Jeld Wen aluminum clad wood windows installed in our new construction house in 2006. The weather seals have deteriorated on a lot of them. I contacted Jeld Wen and the said they don't have new weather seals for their older (12 years?) windows or doors. I am hoping you can help us as several of the windows on the south and west sides of the house have been leaking. I have attached several photo's of the old weather seals and hope you can supply new material. Of course they are a little flattened hope you can help us. Thank you.

Hi there- thanks for posting! This bubble seal looks a bit unusual, but I think we may be able to help. How exactly does it install? Does that kerf just push into a slot? If so, see our 58-055 bubble seal. If not, please go into more detail about how this seal installs and we can try to recommend something else.

Hi thank you for the response, yes it does push into a small slot in the frame. I almost couldn't get it out just had to tear it loose. I will try some of the 58-055 seal. I am not happy with Jeld Wen windows they are only 12 years old and all the seals are stiff and worn out.

Hello - I am also looking for window seal replacements for older Jeld-Wen wood frame windows. Can you assist in helping me find the correct seals?

It looks like there are two seals - one that attaches at the side (like perhaps the 58-055) and another that attaches about a quarter of the way on the seal.

I'm afraid my records don't state explicitly what seal was used on these windows. Does your old seal resemble the sample shown in the photos above? If so, the 58-055 remains our best option. You will need to review its shape and size to verify that it matches.

If not, we will need the same kind of photos to get started. Seeing the end profile, and having written dimensions of the end profile size, would be a huge help. The video below will clarify exactly what I need.

I appear to have the same bubble weatherstripping on my Jeld Wen windows as the original post.  Do you know if anyone has successfully used the 58-055 Bubble Seal on these windows?  The angled base appears to be longer on the 58-055 than what is shown in the images of the original post.

We unfortunately have not received any confirmation as to whether our 58-055 worked or not. That said, it remains our closest and only option.
