LBL Window Balancer for H-LC25-48x77 Window

Contractor from San Mateo California
I need the balancer springs but I cannot figure out how to remove the balancer. Any advice would be welcome. Or do I open the plastic case and replace the springs without removing it from the window?

Hey there, thanks for your patience during this busy summer.

You definitely have to remove the whole assembly to replace the balance system. It won't be possible to open up the case while it's still installed in the window. I recommend checking at the top of the track for a cutout. Most window manufacturers make a gap at that position to allow you to pop the assembly out.

If no pre-made cutout exists then you will need to make one of your own. The video below will show you how this can be done. I know it's annoying but there are some window manufacturers who don't add that feature to their window. I guess they figure if anything breaks that you'd just buy a new window from them for hundreds of dollars instead of a little spring that costs less than 5 bucks. Good for them, bad for you, but making your own cutout circumvents that entirely. It's just a little more work.

Concerning the spring itself, you can use our Series 180. I am very confident that this is what you want.
