I am missing the lock mechanism for my 8 foot patio sliding door. I sent you for photographs hopefully you could identify the proper parts. Thank you

Hello! Looks like you've got an Andersen brand door here. With that in mind, I recommend the 82-043 thumb latch and 82-037 mortise set. I think these parts will work very well for your door. Please let me know if you had any questions about them!

These are the right parts for sure, however there are the same holes on the the other side of the door as well, probably for a locking mechanism. Is there a part like that available?

Sure, that would be either the 82-316 or 82-317, depending on what side you need. Handing for these key locks is determined from the outside looking in, based on the operating door; if I'm looking at your photos correctly, then the operating door is on the left, if I were standing outside. That means you want the 82-316.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about handing. I haven't had breakfast yet so my eyes could be playing tricks on me!
