Larson storm door handle

My handle will no longer allow me to push it downward. Only able to push it upward to open the door. This just started happening. Can I fix it or do I need to replace the entire handle?

Thanks for posting. It sounds like the tension in the handle set has been lost. A locksmith may be able to repair this; but there's a good chance you may need to replace the entire lockset. I believe this is our 40-168, but please compare to be safe. Let me know what you think.
