Latch box removal

Question

I am looking at removing the latch box so I can install a pet door. Should I remove it? If so, how? I have already removed the two screws but it doesn't come out. I am all ready looking at adding more insulation pad on both sides. Thanks in advance!

Hello!

Thanks for reaching out to us. There may be a screw behind the metal logo in the keeper. You'll have to pop it off with a screwdriver to access it. Once you do, you should be able to unscrew the keeper from the jamb.
