Please help identify the part that needs replacement. We have a Jeld-Wen vinyl sliding patio door that was purchased in Spring 2008. Picture #2 shows how the top latch does not protrude far enough to engage without forcing it. Picture #3 is my best attempt to indicate the size since I don't know what measurement you need.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello,
I can't be sure if the mortise lock or thumb latch is the problem based on your photos but we do offer the 82-239 mortise lock and 82-030 handle set.
I would recommend removing the inside handle and using a slotted screwdriver to test the lock. If the latch hooks engage, then the thumb latch is the problem. If not, then the mortise lock is broken and needs to be replaced.
Take a look and compare the dimensions shown on our product pages to your original hardware. We've also related a few videos on this page to assist you. Thank you!
