Latch on 82-003 won't fit through door opening.

Question

I purchased door handle 82-003. It looks lust like my old handle. The screw holes line up perfectly but I can't fit the head of the latch through the opening in my metal door. The head of your latch is 5/8" but my door opening is only 1/2". Do you have a different handle set I could use or a way to modify the one I recieve?

I'm afraid we do not have the 82-003 with a different sized latch. I don't believe they're made anymore. The only solution we have is to reuse your original sized latch with the new handle. I am sorry we cannot offer something better.
