Latch replacement

Contractor from Ceres, CA
My client has one of ur 'lanaidor' patio doors. Installed 1965. Was hoping you might have a latch for it. The existing one had the thumb latch slide break off, however it can be inserted and it will operate the lock mechanisim. Is this a possibility, in your bone--maybe--I know this is a long shot. Would like your thoughts. Thanks Russell Haupt Construction

Thanks for writing in. I'm afraid I don't believe we have a thumb latch that will be compatible with this handle set. We may, however, be able to replace the handle set for you outright (including a new thumb latch). Your mortise lock looks like our 82-218. This is typically compatible with handle sets that have a hole spacing, or the distance between the center of each mounting hole, of 3-15/16". See if your current handle set has the same dimensions. If so, we have a number of possible replacements for you, including the 82-069 or 82-035. Look them over and see what you think.

Thanks for getting back to me. The hole spread on this unit is approx.. 5" rather than 3 15/16". is there a current unit to match that spread?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately no, we have no handle set with that 5" hole spacing. Sorry for any inconvenience, I wish there was more we could do. Many thanks for considering our business.
