Latch too short to reach strike plate

Question

I purchased the 40-150 inside handle. When I installed it I found the latch does not reach the plate. The original handle is 1.5" from the center line of screws to the strike plate while the 40-150 is 1". I tried flipping the plate so it protrudes further but that did not work either. I really do not want removed the existing hardware and drill more holes in the door or shim out the strike plate further. Do you sell a different latch that will work? or some sort of adaptor I can replace on the 40-150 latch so it reached 0.5" further?

Thanks for writing in. I'm afraid this exact handle is no longer made, and the 40-150 is indeed the closest match we have. The option we usually recommend in this case is to indeed shim up the strike plate. This is your best I think. I apologize we can't be of more help, and many thanks for reaching out.
