Latch and Spiral Balance

Question

I have a customer I need to replace a few of their latches and spiral balances. What throws me off is the balance is Yelow but from the color tip to the screw hole it's 25 1/2". Do go with a shorter replacement at 25" or go with a longer one at 26"? Also the clips are 2 3/8" long and 3/4" wide at the bottom (they are flaired). But they have these "wings" on the end and are attached by one screw on the top and one on the side. Thanks!

Hey there,

Thanks for posting! Since the existing balance measures 25-1/2", we suggest using the 26" length. Worst case scenario, you'll need to drill a new installation hole 1/2" above the original hole, but it likely wouldn't be necessary. That said, moving the balance up should accommodate the difference, if needed.

The window latch, reminds me of the 26-351 Better-Bilt Window Latch. I am confident this is the right replacement but be sure to look over the dimensions below and compare them.
