Lattice removal

A home owner from Parkland, Florida says:
Hello there,

I've placed a few orders from you and they've really helped rejuvenate my windows! I have Pan Am windows from the mid 80's and they needed springs and other parts. I am very happy with the way it all turned out.

I have another question, though. On the exterior of these windows is a type of aluminum lattice. Some of the vertical pieces are loose and we think that the windows would look a lot nicer with them removed. If I take these pieces out, there will be a space in the horizontal lattice piece (which seems fixed and cannot be removed) and in the piece near the window edge. Is it fine to have these spaces there or should I fill them with something like glazing putty?

Thanks for your help!

You can remove the vertical metal mullion pieces, but not the center "T" bars. We believe the white pieces that are holding in the glass and vertical mullions are vinyl snap-in glazing. I need you to remove one piece and show us the end profile. That cross-section view, along with dimensions, will help us narrow things down. Many thanks.
