Hello! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your hardware. If I'm understanding correctly, you're telling me that the key cylinder in the 82-086 does not line up with the mortise lock in your door. Is that correct? If so then the suggestion our representative told you is absolutely your best option. The 82-030 has three holes that can take a key cylinder: top, middle, and bottom. This is in contrast to the 82-086 which only has a key cylinder in the bottom position and cannot be altered in any way. Fortunately, that key cylinder can work in either handle set interchangeably, so you can just pop it out of the 82-086 and pop it onto the 82-030 without issue. You just have to make that hole. |
