When the door is shut, the center release pin on the door doesnot make good contact with the jam screw to allow the lock lever to latch..The release pin seems to be striking below the screwhead into the soft aluminum. In addition the door is sometimes hard to roll..Could the bearings be wearing out and allowing the door to drop slightly ?? I would like to fix the door for my customer. How do I remove the door ?? Is the bearing assembly adjustable up & down ?? I donot have a parts schematic .. Thanks, Steve Carter

Thank you for your patience during this busy season. I'm not familiar with the brand information you gave for this door, so I don't know exactly what you have. I can tell you that if the door is not adjusted properly then the mortise lock and keeper can fall out of alignment, which will make it difficult to lock. The door being hard to roll is also a sign of either bad rollers, a bad track, or the door dragging. The first and easiest solution to try is adjusting your rollers. See if that helps align the lock with the keeper and with your door's movement. If that doesn't work, try cleaning your tracks and rollers to see if that gets them in working order again. Look for any significant dents or cracks in the track. If all fails, then it's time for new rollers, a new track, or both. See the videos below for more insight on what you might be dealing with. |
