We moved into this condo a year ago and during the homeowner inspection it was noted that the lock on the sliding door from the livingroom to the balcony was broken. As we're on the 8th (top) floor I wasn't worried about break-ins but still thought it should be repaired and this self isolation is the perfect time to do it.
The doors slide and work beautifully it's just that the knob for the lock has broken so it cannot be secured. Hopefully a replacement is available that will just slide into the current lock to that the part does not need to be replaced. We also don't need the kit that has a lock on the door but I didn't see it on line. It could be that the exterior panel of the door covers where the key would have gone but is not needed. I took a picture to show both this inside, the latch that should come up and the extended section to the balcony where no key is needed.
