Lock replacement

Question

I just ordered this product - 38-036. There are no threads inside the screw hole so the screws do not hold in the product. How are we supposed to install this so it stays put?

The manufacturer suggests our #8 X 3/8" stainless steel pan head screw. You can also pick this size screw up at a hardware store.
