Lock to sliding patio door

A home owner from Weymouth MA says:

Our lock mechanism isn't grabbing anymore and what says Canadian patent number 919213 patented in the year 1973 this slider was probably installed in 1990

The measurement of the lock from from top to top is about 4.5 inches and from center hole to center hole is 3 inches
