Locking mechanism broke internally - no way to unlock/open windows

Quick Learner from Iowa
I have Crestline vinlycrest casement windows purchased from Menards that I put in new in 2003. I now have 3 that are broken in the same area. The latch to unlock the windows "snapped" internally and now the latch swings freely without doing anything to unlock the window. I don't want to trash the window guessing how to fix it (still cold here for a few months!), but want them fixed before summer temps come. Thanks.

Thanks for contacting us! This is always a very tricky project. I'm afraid the only way to get the lock off your window is to cut it off, which is no easy task. I highly recommend contacting a local professional to come out and do it for you.

I have 3 Crestline vinyl casement windows which I installed new in 2003. I now have 3 which have sheared the "toggle" inside the locks. A putty knife was used to jimmy the locking bar so I could open the windows and get to the screws holding the locking "handle" and remove it. 2 are for the "left window" and 1 from the "right" if it makes and difference. Thanks for any help identifying the correct replacement parts.

Welcome back to SWISCO. It's always good to hear back from customers. See if either our 38-095 or 38-096 Maxim multi-point locks will work for you.
