Looking for a stronger replacement

Home Owner from Michigan
I believe my patio door has the same style handle set as your Legacy Keyed Handle Set (82-086) and the "nub" on the back side of the inside handle that the top screw goes through broke off. The bottom nub is still attached. I saw another person on here who had the same issue with this model and others who had similar styles of handles that appear to have similar issues where the top screw goes into the door. Is there a sturdier model that would fit the same installation holes that would not be prone to breaking off or cracking on top as I've seen with a lot of these D shaped handles? Thanks for your time!

I'm afraid that the manufacturer doesn't really make a sturdier version of this handle set. In this industry, a company tends to make one version of a thing and that's more or less it.

I can tell you that one thing that would help alleviate future damage like you describe would be to clean and lubricate the rollers and track to make sure they're running smoothly. A patio glass door should be able to open with a gentle touch; if you find yourself having to really pull on a door then this will cause wear over time.

I'm sorry we cannot offer a better replacement option for you.

Thank you very much for that advice. I have ordered the 82-086 and will be cleaning and lubricating the rollers and track, as you suggested. =)
