Hi there. I see you need a number of different balances from separate sizes. I am afraid this isn't enough information to go off of.

  • First off, for the purported lengths, are you measuring only the metal channels? Do not include the nylon fittings in these measurements.
  • I need the stamp codes on the balances for each length you're asking for. Since you're dealing with multiple sets of balances, make sure the stamp codes are the same across all three lengths. If different, please specific and tell me how many.
  • We need to identify these fittings on both ends. First off, make sure they're actually the same fittings on all the balances. Secondly, you don't show the top fitting in these photos. Please show to confirm. Finally, for the bottom nylon shoe, is it the 15-005, which has a depth of 1"? The depth can be described as the 'heel-to-toe' measurement, just below and perpendicular to where the metal channel ends. If the depth is smaller at 7/8", you might need balances with our 15-029 shoe instead. Please let me know.

Yes I measured just the metal, and also on the shoe bottom have 15/16, I don't know if it's one inch and it's already worn out

Is like a plastic or rubber seal around the glass

Thanks for getting back to us. Bob's not here today so I'll be helping you as best as I can. Catching up on this discussion, it seems you need three different sized balances. At first glance I thought you had a Series 380, which uses a 19-005 top and 15-005 bottom nylon fitting, but then you said that the depth of your old shoe is only 15/16". That might be an issue.

The 15-005 is 1" deep. It is possible that yours wore down over time and use, which happens all the time, but it may also be possible you need the 7/8" deep 15-029 instead. This is not a stock option though and it means that all your balances would have to be custom made. If I were you, I would triple check that depth measurement just to be 100% sure.

I would be happy to get these balances custom made for you, but custom balances can't be returned for a refund so you really should be 100% sure. Let me know. If you do have a 1" shoe that just wore down, then our Series 380 will be perfectly adequate and you can place an order for that on our site whenever you wish.

For your wool pile, I recommend looking at our complete selection here. You will need to measure your original and compare it to the dimensions we list on this page to find the best option.

Finally, for this last photo, I can't really tell what you're pointing at. It just looks like you're pointing at the frame. It could be a glazing of some kind, but if it is then I need you to remove a sample and show me the end profile. It's not possible to ID that kind of thing while it's still installed.
