Looking for replacement channel balances + windows they belong to

A home owner from San Francisco, CA says:
Hello,

I have a few broken (black aluminum single hung) windows in my new home that I'd like to repair (they either don't stay open or won't close all the way). I believe I just need new channel balances + perhaps new lower sashes, as the frames and top sashes appear to be in good working order. Unfortunately, I don't know what kind of windows/window parts I need. The current channel balance is marked "3620 HE B.S.I." -- can you help me identify what parts I need for repair?

Hi Julie. If it's a case of the sash not staying open, then most likely the channel balances simply need to be replaced. We can certainly help. However that stamp just tells us the balance's spring strength. To know its identity we'll need you to remove your old balance and show us pictures of the nylon fittings on either end. That will tell us what you need. See the videos below.
