Looking for replacement handsets

The white door is a 4 seasons porch door, 1 3/4" thick, the holes are 3" on center spaced, standard backset. The Pella is old and latch broken, I saw you give the mortice to another post, but because of worn handles and trim, I need a complete handset. Thanks.

Hello there!

The black door's handle set looks like it could be a match for our 40-193 and the white door's handle resembles our 40-058. Look over the specifications for these parts and compare them with yours to see what you think.

The Pella is the right model wrong color, original is bright chrome. The other unit is more of a traditional handset than storm door. So presently you don't have what I want. Will you continue to look for a handset to match? The Pella I can get locally in the finish you currently don't have in stock. Thank, you Emily!

Hey there, maybe I can help. To start with, the 4 seasons door in your second photo has an old and obsolete lockset that we are no longer able to provide. Truth be told, these were never that great even when they were made; we stopped selling them due to a high number of customer complaints regarding the quality of its construction. The deadbolt would break usually after only a month of use. The manufacturer then stopped making them not long after we stopped selling them.

I don't know if anyone still has this set anymore, but even if they did, I wouldn't recommend buying it. It will just break. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you may want to consider a new door. I don't think you'll find anything that will work as an alternative. These were just a really bad design. Continuous repairs of a shoddy part will end up costing you more than a new door in the long run anyway.

As for the Pella set, chrome is unfortunately not a finish we can provide for the 40-193. The closest we are able to get a hold of is Satin Nickel.

Thank you Tom! I'm glad to hear your honest assessment of the old hardware. I decided to go ahead and replace it with a standard locking handset/deadbolt combo which I know will work. Thanks to you and Swisco for helping to find those items! I'm sure there'll be a need for your other products and services down the road. PaulH
