Looking for suitable replacement or upgrade for old spring balances

Home Owner from Durham NC
Some sashes no longer stay up in these wood windows, original to a 1961 house. In the pictured window one of the springs has fallen out. What is the best replacement product? The springs are about 5/8 inch wide and the sashes are 23 inches tall and do not tilt out.

These are very, very old balances. I'm sorry to say that we don't sell anything like this, and in all likelihood you're going to need new jamb liners. That will necessitate having them made by a local mill work who might still make wood windows.

The only product we sell that might work is a combination of our Series 500 and 17-012 bracket, but this is a Hail Mary more than anything. I think ultimately you'd be better served getting new jamb liners made so that you have updated hardware.

Thanks Tom. I ordered S500-22 spiral balances and 17-012 brackets. They were easy to install and work well!
