Looking to replace shoe and pivot

Contractor from Hamilton Ontario

Hello,

I am attempting to satisfy a customers broken sash. Would you please help identifying the replacement parts required?

There are a lot more parts required for this project, but this is the one I'm having trouble shooting.

Regards,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Thanks for writing in! I'm happy to take a look into this to see if we can recommend the replacements you need for the repair. Although, it doesn't look like your photos uploaded with your inquiry.

If there is an issue with uploading them, please email them to help@swisco.com. Be sure to include the reference number for this discussion in the subject of the email so the photos can be emailed over to us.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have in the meantime.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the photos! I am confident we can provide you with the replacement balances you'll need. I'll just need to see the assembly removed from the window to make an accurate recommendation. You'll also need to have them removed to confirm a few dimensions.

Take a look at our video tutorial below to see if this might be helpful!

I would appreciate some help identifying the coil in the pictures I have provided.

Please find attached as requested photos with measurements of the piece in question.

Please provide your suggestion for replacement parts.

Kind regards,

 Danny

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the additional photos. We do not have an exact replacement match for the coil assembly you have but I am confident there is a suitable alternative we can supply you with.

To narrow down the best fit for your repairs, I'll need to confirm the measurements for the width and the thickness (front to back) measurement of the shoe, the width of the metal coil, and I'll need to know the exact weight of the sash. Please write the measurements out as they are a bit hard to read from the photos.

Feel free to reach out with any other questions you might have.

Thanks for the reply, and all your support.

The sash weighs 7 lb

Shoe: 1 15/16t x 1 1/4w x 9/16thick

Coil: 1 3/16 x 1/2

Please refer to photos as well.

Kind regards,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Thanks for confirming. We believe our S140-04 will work to repair your 7lb sash. A pair will support 7 to 8.99lbs.

Your existing pivot bar will not be compatible with this replacement but our 26-398 or 26-405 should work for your repairs. You'll need to be sure to double check that at least one of the installation hole placements is a match for your existing pivot bar.
