Hello,

I have unfortunately have a non-tilting window that has lost its channel balances. What should I be measuring or checking to try and determine what the last channel balances were?

Thanks for reaching out to us! There is a good chance we can get you set up with the replacement balances you need but that will depend on the information available to us. To start, are there any similar windows in the home that do still have balances in them? If so, that will make this process a bit easier.

I will also need to know the exact weight of the sash with the missing balances as well as the measurement for the height of the visible glass pane.

The window sash can be removed and there are some stickers still on it. Not sure if this is helpful at all. I can try and weigh it when I have a chance.

I'm sorry to say I would not be able to use the sticker or the photo of the top sash guide to identify the exact balances needed for your window. I'll need the information requested above to confirm the correct replacement. The best way to identify them would be to look for a window that has similar balances in them.

The top sash guide here can most likely be replaced with the 18-171 Stepped Sash Guide, Apline. To confirm that this is the correct fit for your window, carefully look over the dimensions below.
