Lower sash latch

I have a Florida home that was built in 1987. The windows at the back of the house are original to the home and they are aluminum frame, single pane windows. All use the same style of latch that is at the very bottom of the lower sash and clips into a channel at the bottom of the frame. To release the window, you just squeeze the top portion of the latch, which kicks out the bottom of the latch, releasing the sash. These latches can be slid out of the channel they are mounted to and unfortunately one of them is missing entirely. The material appears to be aluminum and rough dimensions are 1.75" W x 1" H

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I can't remove the latch from the channel. It does seem to slide side-to-side by about 2", but it is being stopped and I am hesitant to apply further force to it without it breaking. I would imagine the latch snaps into the channel, but I think pulling it out by force will likely break it. I've attached two other images to give you a better profile view. Thank you. That appears to be spot-on. I think it's worth a roll of the dice. I'd rather not have to replace the window at this time.
