Lubing spiral balance

Question, can I lube existing spiral balances, and if so, how do I go about it? Several windows are getting hard to open, but the balances are not broken.

We recommend white grease for spiral balances. You will need to remove the balance, extend the spiral, then apply the white grease directly to the spiral and work it in the tube before reinstalling in the window. Give the spiral three turns before locking the shoe in the sash with a tool like our 75-004.
