Lubricating Window balances

Question

Hello,
I replaced a window balance because of a broken spring. Now, I have other windows that have become too hard to slide up or down. Is there a way to lubricate the sliding surfaces and with what product? Thanks so much.

Hey There!

You can try any silicone-based spray in the track and see if that helps. You'll want to make sure to clean the track thoroughly before applying the spray.
