I have a 1986 36" Stanley steel entry door. The cat clawed up the lockside weatherstripping. Bad kitty. Is the 58-008 seal kit the correct replacement weatherstripping for this old of Stanley door?

Thanks for posting. Yes, Stanley did use this exact type of weatherstripping at one time, but even so please be sure to compare the dimensions of your original to that of the 58-008 Prime Door Seal Set before considering it as a replacement. Also note that the 58-008 has a compression strip on the hinge side and magnetic strip on the top and lock side. Let me know what you discover.

I have magnets on the lock side and header. The hinge side is a compression seal. The attachment insert that goes in the door jam looks the same. I took two pictures. I hope they show enough detail.

Thanks for getting back to us. Can you submit photos of the seal removed from the frame, and showing its end profile? I am afraid I cannot quite make out what's in the photo. We'll do our best to assist from there.

I'm sorry the last pictures didn't come through well. Here is another one.

The leg of the seal looks a bit different, but the 58-008 should work as a replacement. You won't see the leg after it is installed because that's what goes into the groove on the door stop to hold it in.

I have a front door unit that was installed in the 1990`s. The weather stripping is magnetic and has fallen off the door head. Do you have a company in my area that can fix my problem?
Thank you
Thank you

Hi! Unfortunately we don't know of any companies in the Kinnelon area that could help you with your project.
But maybe we can help you fix it! If you can, upload a few pictures of the door and the magnetic weatherstripping so we can try to understand why it fell out in the first place. After that we can go over some repair ideas or maybe even find you a replacement.
