Malta Window Repair

I have a house full of about 30 Malta double hung windows. 30+ years old. They have been great, except for the broken balances.
The jamb liners are fine, but I need block and tackle balances with hangers, sash stops, tilt shoes, and cam pivot pins for pretty much all of the windows.
Unfortunately the discontinued liners have a narrower slide track of about 0.85 inches. So sliding tilt shoes of one inch wide will not fit. The pic is of the existing jam liner, which was designed for no tilt shoe, only a cord screwed to the window through a clip.
Can you recommend a shoe that will work? Windows are several different lengths so will need different balances and I think I can figure that out easily enough. Also need cam pivot pins, diecast if available.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello there!
Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm not sure if this is something we can help with from your description. To help us confirm, can you show us photos of the old balances and shoes removed from the window? Can we also see a photo of the cam pivot pins?

as you can see there is no block and tackle balance unit with a slide shoe or a cam pivot pin.
Instead they have the springs sliding in the jamb-liner tracks. the white plastic parts have a hole for a screw that fastens them to the sides of the sash. What is missing in the photo is the pulley unit that used to be at the top. Being plastic, they have all disintegrated over the years.
This is why I want to use new balances and shoes, if they will fit in the narrower existing tracks. The tracks are not the standard 1 inch width, more like 0.85 inches wide.
I did buy a set of replacement jamb-liner kits from Fenster and they do work, but are expensive. Those block and tackle balances and cam pivot pins work fine with the existing old jamb-liners, but the 1 inch wide shoes do not fit the narrower tracks.
So again, can you point me to narrower shoes? I will buy all of the components from you if i can get the shoes.

This is a totally different system, but you wanted to see it.
your Balances fit, in these old jamb-liners, but i need smaller shoes.
Hope that helps,
Mike

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, we do not carry replacements for the naked spring jamb liner assemblies shown in your photos, which are commonly found in older wood windows. The only part that we may be able to supply would be the 15-159 Malta pivot shoe depending on how the specifications below compare to yours.

If you have wood windows, you could reach out to a local millwork for replacement jamb liners if needed.
