Matching my balance springs

A home owner from Brandon, Florida says:

Hi,

I am trying to match my window balance springs. The balance springs are 1/2" wide and 30" long (length of the metal housing without the plastic top or bottom shoe). Based upon my search on your website, I come up with a Series 380 and probably with the 2930 option based on the markings on the original. My only concern is the top plastic piece. It is a bit different than yours although it looks like it would work - I'm just not sure. Please see the photos attached and let me know what you think. If you need more info, please let me know.

Thank you,

Russell

Hello, Russel. I agree, the S380-30 looks like a great match. Don't worry about the style of the top nylon fitting; yours is close enough to ours that it won't matter. I'm  more concerned about the bottom nylon fitting, specifically its depth. You should make sure yours is 1" deep and not larger. If it is deeper, you may have the S385-30 instead.

It also looks like your balance broke through the old top sash guide. That will have to be replaced, as well. See our video below for more information on how this can be done. You can also see our complete top sash guide section here
