Measurement of door rail thickness

Question

I need a replacement for a sliding glass door handle with lock.  I found one on this website that looks like it may work but I am unsure about the door rail thickness specification.  Can you elaborate on what the door rails are or how to measure the door rail thickness.  Thank you!!!

The 82-055K is for a door thickness of 1", maybe 1-1/4" but no thicker. Open your door and lay a ruler flat up against the edge of the door to determine its thickness.
