Mech inside door handle

Ordered 40-150 handle. Fits door but doesn't line up with latch. Please advise as to identify correct part number for this application. Thank you.

Hi there,

The 40-150 is the correct handle for you, but you'll just need to pack it out a bit! You should be able to find some shims at a local hardware store to solve this. Let us know how it works out for you.

With the part of the striker being spring loaded (yellow arrow)and the part of the handle that hits the striker (red arrow) being curved, it seems to me that this combination won't hold the door closed securely???

I've never heard any complaints as to the efficacy of the 40-150. In my experience it works as well as any other storm door latch. It's ultimately up to you, though. Your original latch isn't sold anymore, so this is the only option we can provide. I'm confident it can work if you pack the handle out enough.
