Metal part sticking out of top of window

Could you please identify the part pictured? I don't know what it is called to be able to search for it.

Thanks for your patience during this busy season. It looks like your pivot bar was installed backwards. The end that's sticking out should actually be sticking in; conversely, the end that's supposed to be sticking out is obscured, meaning that I can't identify the appropriate match.

I think it would be best at this stage if you were to remove the original pivot bar so that we can get a better look at its design.
