Metal window sash part

A contractor from Wilmington, DE says:
Hi there! I think I need a balance holder?? This part is screwed to the top of each side of a metal window with a 1/2" balance 19" long.

I cannot make out what the part on the SASH should look like as not much is left. See pics :)

Thanks for posting! It seems like you're looking for a Top Sash Guide. Does that look about right? If so, then it's hard for me to tell what you need based on these images. Is there an undamaged top sash guide we can see? Along with some dimensions, we can help you find a replacement part from there.

The reason I made a bunch of pics of the balance is I thought you guys would have an old timer that would know which top sash guide fits the 1/2" balance by looking at the top part of the balance from the pics.

I have already made two trips to this new customer's house and will be looking pretty silly coming back again and taking another window apart. However, from all of the selections it looks like there are several different options for the SAME balance no doubt......... meaning it's time for me to go back yet again?

From your choices on the top sash page....... I'm thinking it may be 1/2" Top Sash Guide Product Code: 18-036. If you think it MAY be right. I'll just order a couple and give it a try :)

Thanks for getting back to us, Bill. You're correct: this kind of balance could theoretically go with several different kind of top sash guides. In fact, how the top sash guide is decided depends very little on the balance you have.

Now, the 18-036 could possibly be a match, but unfortunately there is simply too little of your original top sash guide here for me to know for sure. Without seeing an undamaged top sash guide and knowing its dimensions, I cannot confirm whether the 18-036 could work for you.

Do you know the name of the manufacturer of the window? With that information, I may be able to at least narrow down the selection.
