Milgard Channel Balance

Hi,

Trying to identify this balance to order a replacement, It measures 27" x 1/2" and you can see the Milgard numbers in last picture. I have replaced them before but in that case Milgard had sent them under warranty.

Please let me know.

Hi Jon. Confirm that the metal channel, not including the nylon fittings at either end, is 27" long. If so, see our S380-27 or S385-27. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. You will need a stamp option of 2650. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Bob,

I took a couple pictures of just the shoe, it looks like it is 1" if I am understanding this right. I also double checked the metal channel length and it is 27".

I think that makes it this one?

S380-2727" Series 380 Channel Balance

Thanks for the reply, Jon. I think it's best to double-check that depth measurement. So basically, if you stood the balance up like how it sits in the window, the 'depth' is the distance between the toe and heel of the bottom nylon attachment. For the Series 380, the depth is 1"; for the Series 385, the depth is 1-3/32". See the picture below for an illustration. You are correct that you'll need either the S380-27 or S385-27, with a stamp option of 2650.

Hi Bob,

I came up with 1.062, 1 3/32 would be 1.0937.

I am thinking this is an S385 with some wear, or maybe I am just measuring the wrong spot as the little "ears" are angled outward.

Do you know if anything >1" puts me safely in the S385?

How hard is it to return them if I end up needing the S380's?

Thanks for the reply, Jon. You're absolutely right: even if it's a little less than 1-3/32", so long as it's any greater than 1", you're dealing with a Series 385; wear and tear is typically the culprit.
