Milgard Tuscany Windows

Home Owner from Seattle
I need to replace the "fresh air stop" or "window vent stop" on a Milgard Tuscany series slider window. I ordered stops from Swisco, but the current stop will not come out of the window.

Hello, thank you for posting,

It appears you have a vent latch similar to the 26-122. Please review the overall style and dimensions to confirm a good fit!

To remove the old latch, you will have to break it. An option is to place a flat putty knife behind the top flange of the latch and firmly force the top out. I know it sounds awkward, but these weren't designed to be replaced for some reason. It's annoying, but it's not difficult to pop the old ones out. Just be careful not to damage the window. To install the new latch, put the bottom in first, then snap it in at the top.
