Milgard Window Balance

A home owner from Cupertino CA says:
The marking on the balance is

26 5 FR CALDWELL

The length of the metal part (not including the shoes) is 27". The bottom shoe is 1" deep measured from the wing to the other end (measured at 90 degrees to the metal channel).

I think I have to get 380-27 27" Series. Could you please confirm that this is the correct part. Thank you.

Thanks for posting. I agree, an S380-27 looks promising. Just make sure the bottom nylon shoe depth, or 'heel-to-toe' measurement, is 1". If it's 1-3/32", see the Series 385 instead. You will need a stamp option of 2650.

A home owner from Cupertino CA says:
One confusion I have is how the bottom shoe must be measured. I think there are two ways to measure it. (A) Along the edge of the shoe and (B) at 90 degree to the metal part of the balance. See the attached picture. For me, (B) is 1" and (A) is a little longer, possibly closer to 1-3/32".

Bob from SWISCO responded:

(B) is the correct measurement. The depth is perpendicular to the bottom of the metal channel. So if the shoe is 1" deep, then the S380-27 should be what you need.
