Milgard Window Balances
Here are the measurements:
Overall length (including the plastic top attachment and bottom guide): approximately 27.20 inches
Metal channel length only (excluding the plastic top attachment and bottom guide): approximately 25.75 inches
I checked the metal channel carefully, but there is no stamp or part number on it. Could you please let me know which channel balance model I should purchase from your website? I have attached several photos of the existing channel balance, including the top attachment, and bottom guide for reference. If you need any additional information or measurements, please let me know, and I'll be happy to provide them. Thank you very much for your assistance. I appreciate your help in advance.
Best regards,
Tommy
Thank you for your patience during this incredibly busy season. I apologize for the long wait.
What you have here is called an extended travel channel balance, named for its unique block and tackle system. We can supply this but only as a custom order.
Before we go any further, I need a few more details.
To start, can you verify the exact weight of the sash, down to the ounce? Since there's no stamp, that's the only way to confirm the proper spring calibration.
Can you also show me a picture of the metal clip at the end of the cord? It's missing in all your photos and it is an essential detail. You may need to use an undamaged balance as reference.
Once we have that data, we can proceed to the next steps.
Thank you for the update, and no worries. I appreciate your help and taking the time to assist me during this busy season. I've attached photos of the metal clip at the end of the cord, along with close-up photos of the top plastic attachment and the bottom plastic guide for reference. I also weighed the window sash several times using an electronic scale. The readings fluctuated between 18.8 lb (approximately 18 lb 13 oz) and 18.9 lb (approximately 18 lb 14 oz). I'm not sure which reading is the more accurate one, so I wanted to provide both measurements. Please let me know if you need any additional information or photos. Thank you again for your assistance!
Best regards,
Tommy
Perfect, thanks! I'm going to set you up with the 2530 stamp option. Two balances with this stamp can carry 15 through 19 pounds, which should be perfect for your sash weight.
I'll go ahead and email you a purchase link and price quote right now for 2 balances made to this configuration. Just one last note: your exact model isn't technically made anymore. The manufacturer changed over to a modern design, so it's going to look a little different. Fortunately it works in all the same applications so you shouldn't notice a difference after it's in. I'm only telling you now so that you aren't surprised when you open the box.
You can use the link I'm about to email you to add 2 of these to your cart. You may then checkout as normal.
Thank you for your prompt response. I have already placed the order using the link you provided. Thanks again!
Best regards
Tommy
