They are custom for a number of different factors. As you pointed out, the length of them is one of those factors; a standard balance would be made in a whole number increment. The other details that make this a custom assembly are the wheel built in to the shoe and the clip attached to it. Overall, it as a completely different assembly from any other balance we have.

The reason we ask to see the photos is so that we can provide you with a configuration that will be an exact replacement for the one you have. I can assure you the replacement balance will be compatible with your window.
