Milgard Window balances

Home Owner from Cedar Rapids

We need replacement Milgard channel balances. The stamp on our balance is:

26 4 GV CMC2

Can you help identify a comparable product?

Thanks in advance,

Ann

Thanks for writing in, Anne. I am confident we can help replace these channel balances, but that stamp is not an identifier. It just tells us the strength of the balance. To know what balance you need, you will have to remove the old balances from the window and send us clear photos of the nylon attachments at both ends. The style of attachments will determine what you need. We will do our best to help from there. Many thanks.

Thanks for your quick reply! I have attached several pictures and have listed some measurements below.

Length (metal portion only) - 27"
Length including white plastic parts - 28"
Depth - 5/8"
Width metal channel - 5/8"
Width of widest part of plastic end - 15/16"

Please let me know if you need any additional info to identify this part.
Thanks in advance!

Hey Ann, thanks for getting back to me with this thorough information. It looks like you have either an S380-27 or S385-27 Channel Balance. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement. See the diagram below for reference. Compare both balances with your old hardware and see what matches best. In either case, for a stamp option choose 2640. Let me know if you have further questions.
