Thanks for posting. This seems to resemble our Series 385 channel balance, but I highly recommend comparing our pictures and measurements to your own hardware to be sure.

Thanks Tom for the quick response and the super fast shipping. The 385 channel balance worked perfectly.

Hello good sir.

I have a similar channel balance labeled:
26 4 IV CMC 8 on the right side
26 4 IV CMC 2 on the left side

If you could help me decipher this info perhaps I can find a suitable replacement.

Best Regards,

Hi, Mitch. Those stamps aren't product codes or anything, they just tell us the calibration of the spring and length of the metal channel; in your case, these two balances are the same, and they both measure 27".

That's about all I can say. The only way to match up the Series is to compare the size and design of the top and bottom nylon fitting. The customer who originally posted this thread had a Series 385, which uses a 19-005 top and 15-004 bottom. Do these match your existing fittings?

Hello, Bill. I'm not sure what you have, unfortunately. We have dozens of different balances with that stamp. It's not a product code or anything, it just indicates the strength of the spring.

In order to figure out what Series this is, I need you to remove an undamaged version of this balance from the window and show me clear pictures of the top and bottom nylon fittings. I will also need to know the dimensions of these fittings.
