So these are at least 20 year old Milgard windows that need the weatherstripping replaced obviously. Most of it is damaged to the point of not being measurable. We will do our best on the measuring. Please advise what we need if you can. Thank you!

Hello, Chris.
I believe the weatherstripping you have here was discontinued. Our 58-055 should suffice though. Take a look and see what you think.

Thank you Emily. Is there any way to call to ask you a few questions surrounding this? I am confused about what stripping is for which side. Is this recommended stripping for the window side or the frame side and is there a different type for each?

I'm afraid I can only respond right here on this page. I hope that's okay. You should use the corresponding replacement for whatever you removed from each side of the sash. If the 58-055 is on the top and bottom, that's what you'll use to replace it. If you're not sure what is used on the other sides, you need to remove a sample and check.

So just to confirm. The window cranks outward and the above strip 58-055 is what you are recommending. I wanted to confirm that you recommend this same part number for the frame side? Thank you. Attached are are photo of the stripping pulled from the frame side and a pic of the frame side. Also, how is this applied? Does it have a sticky side? I'm assuming the best policy to prep for the new stripping is to scrape all of the old out and wipe clean prior to application. Thank you so much.
