Milgard balancers

A handy person from Commerce City, Colorado says:
What a great site! Hopefully you can help me. I suspect one of the balancers has been replaced before. One is stronger than the other and the window needs to be giggled side to side to get it moving upward. The window weighs 30 lbs. These are the numbers on the balancers. Left- 32 5 FW CMC 10. Right- 32 3 GW CMC 7. I believe they most closely resemble your S 385.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

That's definitely no good. Both balances should be totally symmetrical. I guess someone tried to repair your window in the past and put the wrong part in; it happens all the time.

Fortunately, your given sash weight solves the mystery before it even began. You want the 3250 option, which is a match for your old 32-5 stamp; two balances with a 3250 option can carry 28 through 30 pounds.

You can see a weight breakdown chart on the S385-33 store page to see what I mean.

Thanks Tom, I'll place my order! Bill
