Quick Learner from Colorado
The windows were manufactured about 2003-04. The length of the metal channel is 27". The weight of the window sash is 19 lbs.

The reply I received indicated that the discussion was closed. Does that mean Swisco can't help me with my Milgard channel balance need?

Thanks for waiting during this busy. That's strange. We didn't close your discussion; this is the first time we're seeing it. We can help with this, but we'd like additional information. We would like to see an image of the inside of the balance’s metal channel, where the innerspring connects to the pulley mechanism; this connection is located in the middle of the channel.

Perfect! The S380-27 or S385-27 can replace your balance. The best match will depend on the depth of the bottom shoe, as shown below.

However, the 26-5 stamp on your old balance is calibrated for a sash weighing 26 to 30 pounds, which would be too strong if the sash weighs 19 pounds. Have you had any trouble opening and closing your window?

The shoe depth matches the S385 and I'll go with the 2640.
The almost all of the windows in this house are very hard to close and easy to open.
Thanks for your help.
