Milgard single hung

Question

Single hung/ thermopane (36"x60")is hard to open an hard to close. Balances ( 24-9 KE5 CMC 45 ) are clean an in good condition. Vinyl jams are in good condition. My wife can barely open but can not close them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could try lubricating the track with silicone spray, that might help. If not, then the springs may be shot, which would mean you need new channel balances.
